I believe this might be the first orange Christmas card I've ever made. The image is a House Mouse scene that absolutely refused to stamp for me. I can't count how many times I re-inked it in the stamp positioner, but it wouldn't stamp the entire image. (There was a huge white spot just to the right of what you see here.) I set it aside for a while, and then decided to use what I could and have one bunny hanging carrots on a tree instead of two.
In addition to using the "snippet" created by lop off half the image, the image is matted on a dark orange snippet which is on a paler orange snippet. In keeping with the orange theme, I used orange baker's twine and orange ink on the sentiment.

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card. Such a shame that you had problems stamping it. I have had a problem with a certain stamp of my own in a stamp positioner and have resorted to popping it on the floor and using my foot (very carefully) to add a bit more pressure where it is not stamping. This has worked for me but remember to be careful if you try this method.

I love this card and image as it is Sandy! Just perfect. Surprised that HM have a didgy stamp but these things happen. If you don't have a Misti - where you can repeat stamp (ah, bet it's wood mounted?) then am stuck. Sue's idea of standing on it is a good one but - as she almost warns - prone to smudging. I would just continue to use ifs as you did - it's perfect like that anyhow!
