Joyful

Maybe it's just me, but every once in a while, I'll see a sketch that will keep nagging at me until I try it. That's the situation with this week's Sketch Saturday layout. It was just different enough to stick in my mind.
The JOY stamp is from QKR Stampede, colored with pencils. For the three small elements, I punched tags from snippets of Christmas patterned paper that echoed the elements in the JOY stamp -- candy canes, holly, and Christmas decorations. Each is attached with a small silver brad, which also supplied an embellishment to draw attention to the sentiment below, a stamp from an unknown source.

This card is for these challenges:
ABC Christmas -- J is for Joy
Rudolph Days for May -- anything Christmas
Crafting by Designs -- Getting Ready for Christmas/Christmas card
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday -- use two stamps

Cat fun

The Cookie Challenge is going to the dogs, and cats. Look at this fun inspiration for the current challenge at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie, Challenge 94.  The sponsor is Beccy's Place, which is offering digis to the winner of a  random draw. Come join in the fun.

For my card, I had a little fun with a set from The Alley Way, with a cat checking out the fishbowl. Everything is colored with pencils, and the fishbowl has microbeads on the bottom along with Glossy Accents.

My card is entered in these challenges:
Crafty Friends #83-- animals
Pammie's Inky Pinkies #1819-- anything goes
Crafting from the Heart #206 -- anything goes
Word Art Wednesday # 335-- anything goes

Snow fun

Here's a Christmas card featuring a stamp I didn't know I owned. I vaguely remember getting it as a gift. Isn't it a sweet image?
Pretty self-explanatory card. Colored with pencils, Wink of Stella for snow, got a little over-enthused with the red ink edging...
Layout is the current Stella sketch from Catch the Bug.
Card is entered in these challenges:
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #385 -- anything Christmas
Winter Wonderland --- Christmas in the Snow
ABC Christmas -- K= Keep it Simple
Catch the Bug -- Stella Says Sketch #610
Word Art Wednesday #335 -- anything goes

Flowers

Life has been insanely busy lately, but I'm taking a breather to post a card.
This card features a lovely flower die from Memory Box, which I die-cut with a Cuttlebug in green and hot pink  papers from the snippets file. The pink flowers were cut "off the vine," so to speak, and placed on top of the green diecut. The sentiment (a Tonic die  I won courtesy of Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge -- thank you!) was cut from the same green paper (which, BTW, complements the printed paper so much better IRL, as do the flowers). The butterfly is popped up on dimensional tape over the satin  ribbon.

This card is entering these challenges:

Crafty Sentiments - use ribbon or lace
Butterfly Challenge #100 -- Hot Pink and Hearts
Catch the Bug -- say it with flowers
Pixie's Snippet Playground #326 (all die cuts from snippets)
Dies R Us #96-- Flowers
Word Art Wednesday #335 -- anything goes

Flowery feminine fairy

Are you ready for another Cookie Challenge?  It has been posted at If you Give a Crafter a Cookie, and it's all about fairies. This time, our sponsor is A Day for Daisies, and to get in the draw from some free images, just make a project inspired by these cookies.
My card features a very sweet little fairy (Flying Fairy Happy) from ADFD.  I colored her in pencils, and her dress/wings are paper pieced from vellum for an ethereal look. She's surrounded by flowers on the image, and to carry out the flower theme, there's flower printed paper, a Pima flower and several punched flowers, all with Nuovo drop centers. For more girly touches, how about a doily (sponged light blue) and blue seam binding.

This card is entered in these challenges:
Double D -- flowers
Scribbles Designs -- feminine
Crafty Sentiments -- anything goes
Crafting by Designs -- anything goes
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge -- use patterned paper
Word Art Wednesday #332 -- anything goes

Monochromatic CAS

Isn't there a saying that goes something like: there's nothing simple about clean and simple?  Or no, is it just me? Anyway, I trie...
