Don't melt

It's hot outside. Think snow.
This card uses a cute snowman from I Heart Stamps and also uses their weekly sketch. The snowman is colored in pencils with Wink of Stella added to the white on the snowman for sparkle.  I hand-stitched the snowflake elements on the side, using three strands of floss. I tried adding Wink of Stella on top of the floss, but I'm not sure how visible it is.

Making lemonade

I was inspired by the sketch at this week's Share the Joy Challenge to try something a little different. I needed to make a picnic card for the Teapot Tuesday Challenge at SCS, and the best image I could find was this pitcher, so I created a pitcher of lemonade and placed it on a picnic table (figuraturevely speaking).
The image is a digi from Tiffany Doodles. I paper-pieced the umbrella with a snippet of plaid, colored the lemonade and added Glossy Accents, and fussy-cut the image. I used another plaid snippet to be a tablecloth, and a snippet of craft to be the table.  The sentiment is from Impression-Obsession.

Delicate butterflies

I'm really happy with how this card came together.
Lots of snippets on this one. In fact everything was cut from snippets. The olive oval is just created by using two Nesties.  The vine is a Tim Holtz die, and the layered butterfly dies are from SSS.  The flowers are punched. The white layer is embossed with Swiss dots folder and popped up from the base.

Christmas wishes

:

As in much of North America, it's blazing hot now, so why not think fondly of winter?
Here's a Christmas card I made using the current sketch from Sketch Saturday. The image is colored with pencils. For the candleholder, I used a silver pencil I found when I was going through old boxes before moving them again.  It's one I used to use to mark fabric for quilting, and it has a nice metallic shimmer. White Wink of Stella adds sparkle and shimmer to the snow piled on the window ledges.

Cookie Challenge #46

The inspiration cookies
It's time for another challenge at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie.
I love flowers, and I have dozens of flower images. However, I decided to go the die-cut route this time. The die is a Sizzlet die, and I just grabbed some snippets and cut multiple flowers, then mixed and matched pieces to create pleasing flowers in a pleasing pattern. The sentiment is from Victorine, I think.
Hope you can join the challenges this time. The sponsor is Aurora Wings, with a prize of a $15 gift certificate to their shop.

Back in business

Woo-hoo.   I feel like I might finally be back to being a crafter. I have spend the last 3 months packing, moving and unpacking. Sadly, the crafty stuff had to be the last unpacked, and it's finally close to being organized. Yay.  So I took the time to play in a few challenges.
I used the current Mojo Monday Sketch for this card, featuring a digi image from Pattie's creations. The image is colored in pencils. The dark green layer is actually from a advertising brochure, but it has a nice mottled texture and it's glossy, so it's an interesting element.  The start is a sticker, and there are a few tiny gold star stickers  sprinkled about as well.

This card is for these challenges:

ABC Christmas -- L is for (lamppost)
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #284-- vintage

Cookie Challenge #45

It's time for another challenge at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie, and it looks like we're heading to a wedding. The prize sponsor for this challenge a AliciaBel, a digistamp company, and Beccy's Place, which is giving away three images or an  entire set.

The image used for my card is an AliciaBel digi called Elegant Bride.
A few touches of sparkle on the Elegant Bride image.

Inspiration cookie #45.
I went digging through my stash and found a
"wedding words" dp to use behind the image, which is colored in pencils, with a few accents in Wink of Stella and Spica pen. An elegant white ribbon and some flowers with matching pearls were the perfect finishing touches.

I hope you can join us at the Cookie Challenge. (Go wherever the inspiration takes you. It doesn't  have to be wedding-related as long as it was inspired by the cookies).

I am entering my card in these challenges:

Catch the Bug- Stella Says Sketch #409 -- sketch
The Paper Shelter #251 -- Gems/pearls
Crafty Sentiments -- Flowers Everywhere
Word Art Wednesday #232-33 --anything goes

It's not easy being green

It's beginning to look like spring with the grass and trees greening up, so I made a green card. I found this cute image of a frog and ...
