Less than 20 minutes

Hazel's challenge this week was to make a  Christmas card in 20 minutes or less. Since that's about how much time I have to devote to craftubf right now, it worked perfectly for me.  I upcycled these this frosty, glittery tree scene by matting it on a darker blue and added a sentiment in Night of Navy.  I was done with time to spare, and I have an entry for April Rudolph Days, too.

these are the challenges:
Rudolph Days April -- christmas
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #226 -- 20 minutes or less
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Extra for April -- anything Christmas

Whimsical Wednesday

(should we make Whimsical Wednesday a thing?)
I had fun creating this little scene from a couple of set of stamps from The Alley Way Stamps.  The kitty has left a gift of cheese for the mouse...  The cat, cheese, mouse and mouse hole are from the Sitting Pretty set, and the sentiment and little dots I used to be the wallpaper are from a TAWS Christmas set. I hand drew in the floorboards, and the holly was fussy cut from a sticker.

I'm playing in several challenges with this card:
The Alley Way Stamps linkup -- Use TAWS stamps
52 Christmas Card Throwdown -- Christmas cats
Merry Monday #155-- Cats or dogs
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas challenge #225 -- something starting with F (feline, furry, funny, festive....)
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Extra -- Christmas theme
Crafty Hazelnuts Paper Challenge -- April
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday -- CAS
Pixie's Snippet Playground -- all the papers are snippets, but mainly I think Di will get a kick out of this.

Krafty Christmas

Here's another for the Christmas card pile, using the coffee and cream color combo from 53 Christmas Card Throwdown.  The tree (which I think is CTMH) is white embossed and mounted o a frayed burlap layer for texture. Sketch is the current Sketch Saturday layout.

I played in several challenges to create this card:

Sketch Saturday #356
Crafty Hazelnut Christmas challenge #224 -- add texture
Crafty Hazelnut Christmas Extra -- anything Christmas
52 Christmas Card Throwdown -- coffee and cream colors
Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge -- trees

Musical butterflies

from Stamplorations blog

I combined the theme of the current Butterfly challenge, butterflies with musical notes, and combined it with one of the inspiration cards at Stamplorations CASE challenge to create this card.  Instead of using a whole rainbow of colors, I stuck to warm colors.

The musical score stamp is from Club Stamp, the sentiment from Stamplorations, and the butterfly die from Simon Says Stamp.

The current challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog is "in the middle," in any way you wanted to interpret the theme. I stamped right across the middle.

This card is for these challenges:

Butterfly Challenge #28 -- musical notes
Stamplorations CASE (from inspiration projects #11, Cornelia's fab card)
Simon Says Monday -- stuck in the Middle
Clear it Out -- use yellow stash (paper and jewels)
Word Art Wednesday #178 -- anything goes

Sweater pup

I came across this image in a pile of cards to upcycle, and I couldn't resist entering it in Hazel's "cute and cuddly" challenge.  The card the dog wasoriginally  on was from my SIL, a famous daschund lover, and the sentiment was "walking in a wiener wonderland."

I first made it using a more complex sketch, but it was just too busy, so I stripped it down to the essentials -- after all,the whole point is to show off sweater dog, right?

The card qualifies for these challenges:
CHCN Christmas Challenge #223, cute and cuddly
CHCN Chistmas Extra for April, anything Christmas
CHCN patterned Paper Challenge for April, use patterned paper
Catch the Bug Challenge, anything goes

A is for apple...

all rosy and red .... or green, as the case may be.
This is my take on the Mojo Monday sketch for this week.  The image is from Beccy's digital stamps, colored in pencils. The apples have Diamond Glaze on them, so they are shiny as well as rosy. The red and white checked ribbon is something I picked up at a yard sale from a very old lady (so old she was pricing stuff for a dime) and I suspect it is quite vintage.
All the colored card stock is snippets and that gave me an excuse to use two different shades of red. A little piercing ties it all together.

I'm entering these challenges:
Mojo Monday #392
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge -- A is for...
Papertake Weekly -- Anything goes
Clear it Out -- anything goes
Word Art Wednesday #178, Anything Goes
Loves Rubberstamps #146 -- anything goes
Pixie's Snippet Playground #171 -- use snippets

Hello Spring

The technique of the week at Splitcoast was "cluster stamping," which is really easy. Just use a stencil or create one with a die (I just used what was left from a circle I cut out). Fill in the shape with lots of little images.  I used a bunch of small flower stamps from Victorine Originals, stamped in a variety of pastels.
With a die-cut sentiment and a couple paper flowers, I had a quick cute card.

I'm entering these challenges:
Stamplorations sketch #31
Whoopi Daisy -- Flowers
Crafty Sentiments -- lots of flowers
Addicted to Stamps and More #139 -- CAS
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday -- Spring Flowers
Inky Impressions #204 -- Spring is in the Air

Fluffy clouds

I'm kind of embarrassed how long these stamps have been in my possession but uninked.  They come from two different sets -- one is from SU, and I'm guessing the other is a Studio G -- I picked up at the semi-annual craft consignment sales at least two sales ago.  I combined them into this cheerful little scene where I just grabbed any colors of ink that appealed to me. The hot air balloon is colored with pencils.

I love that fluffy cloud stamp (it's part of the SU set) so I cut a few out and popped them up to be floating outside the circle.
The sketch is the current one at Sketch Saturday, and the sentiment on the tag qualifies this for the Cuttlebug Mania challenge as well.
The circles were cut with Nesties, and I added the piercing around the dark blue layer by hand.

Let's enter some challenges:
Sketch Saturday #354 -- sketch
Cuttlebug Mania -- tag it
Clear it Out Challenge -- two or more things you were hoarding (how about uninked stamps, plus the ribbon, floss and tag)
Word Art Wednesday #177 -- anything goes
Loves Rubberstamps -- your favorite embellishments (Ribbon, tags and piercing all mine)
CHCN patterned paper challenge -- use patterned paper.

It's not easy being green

It's beginning to look like spring with the grass and trees greening up, so I made a green card. I found this cute image of a frog and ...
