Coral butterfly

I had to do a wax resist card for a swap. Instead of just crumbling the wax paper, I ran it thru an embossing folder to transfer the design in wax, then sponged on Cameo Coral ink to reveal the resist design.  In my opinion, a bit of it goes a long way, so I used just a strip on this card. It's accented with two different designs of adhesive paper lace. The butterfly is black embossed and watercolored with Cameo Coral ink, with Bliss Blue around the edges.

I'm entering these challenges:
Butterfly Challenge #29 -- butterfly and lace
Catch the Bug Sketch 309 -- sketch
Whoopsi Daisy -- Things with Wings
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge -- coral
Papertake Weekly -- anything goes with option of no patterned paper

  2. The wax resisted strip down the side looks lovely. The butterfly looks striking embossed in black, then coloured with coral ink. Beautiful card.

  7. Wow! I'll never look at waxed paper the same again! What an innovative technique and it really adds such a great feeling of elegance to your card. It pairs beautifully with the butterfly and I love the delicate look of the whole thing. It still has energy and movement and I really enjoyed your post. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

  12. I remember looking at this before and then I got distracted. It is still just as lovely today! When I saw the later card I didn't notice the wax resist was in a design and now I wonder how I could not have noticed?! It is way cool!

Stems and flowers

I love these Tim Holtz flowers, and decided to use them for a CAS card. The card is a mini slimline. The All that was left of the snippets...
