The card that wouldn't end

Ever have a card you just couldn't get right? This one felt like that. I just kept adding things -- the buttons, the scallops, the piercing, and I kept thinking "it needs something more."  I finally decided I had to be satisfied with it.

The image is a freebie from Bird, paper-pieced and colored with pencils. I used the tiniest buttons ever to highlight the bows on the balloon. (This is the girliest balloon ever, even in blue, don't you think?) There is piercing a round the edge of the image panel, and I used baker's twine and a die-cut button as the main embellishment.

This is for these challenges:

Sketch Saturday, sketch 302
Just Us Girls, #233, photo inspiration (hot air balloon)
Loves Rubberstamps #96, ugly paper (I liked the paper when I started this, but I was not enthralled with it by the end)
Creative Inspiration, girly card
Simon Says Wednesday, Buttons
Word Art Wednesday 125, Anything Goes.

  9. Your girly balloon came out wonderfully! I like the two banners along the background. The card looks great and we'd never know how much you had to fiddle with it to get it just right if you hadn't told us.
