Butterfly birthday

I learned to make this "bridge" style card a few weeks ago, and I decided to try again when I saw that Mrs. A's Butterfly challenge was "extra folds," or cards with more than a fold down the center. The other part of the challenge was to use "peacock blue" which is similar to the blue in this patterned paper.
The card was created by folding the base (4 folds), covering with the paper-- which comes from a Cosmos Cricket set, and decorating it with a layered, die-cut butterfly alighting on a lovely die-cut branch. The birthday greeting was heat-embossed on vellum, adhered to the matching "bridge strip" and set off by brads. Applying the bridge is the final step.

This card is for these challenges:
Butterfly Challenge #93 -- extra fold and peacock blue
Word Art Wednesday #318 -- anything goes
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge --use patterned paper

  3. I'm not familiar with this shaped card so off to search the web in a minute to find how it has been made. It looks fab here with the butterfly design as the centre stage. Thankyou for fluttering into the garden for this challenge. Hugs Mrs A.
