Textured Background

You don't hear the phrase DTP (direct to paper) very much anymore, but that's what was used here. DTP essentially means take your ink pad and apply directly to paper (or as some folks here in the South might say, "mash it on the paper.")  The green panel has Versamark DTP'd on it, then clear EP applied and heated. It has a pretty cool texture. After applying the die-cut, I reheated, sprinkled some glittery white EP and reheated again.
Every flower on the die-cut has a tiny red gem in it.
Sentiment is from Hampton Arts.  All the pieces but the base are snippets.

  1. You are so brave to stamp direct to cardi am not always brave enough as I usually stamp unevenly then...lol
Yours looks like you have a very steady hand.

This is such a pretty card...I like the pop of the white embossed tree image against the green.

  12. 'Mash it to the paper' doesn't sound as technical as 'direct to paper.' I went to a workshop where DTP was just becoming a thing. The lady stamped an embossed an image and then used a sponge to DTP light brown dye ink. She went on and on and finally one other person asked what I was thinking: Why didn't you just emboss your image on tan paper to start with? I still don't understand why you'd do that for her design. I get why you did it for yours, so you could then heat emboss it and get the texture. Your background came out really cool and very vivid!

Stencils and diecuts

I've had the idea for this card for a while, but I finally got around to making it this week.  I started by stenciling the stone fence...
