Isn't it funny how there are techniques you know how to do, but you just never bother to try them? It wasn't anything amazing, but I've never before just put down a strip of double-sided tape and sprinkled it with glitter to create a ribbon of glitter. It's kind of a nice effect.
I also used a glittery embossing power on the tree because Holly Jolly Christmas wants to see lots of glitter in the current challenge. I was going to try to enter this in Sarn's Rudolph Challenge, but I don't think I have two Christmas cards in me right now
Details: The Christmas tree stamp is from Victorine Originals, the sentiment for Another Stamp Company. The paper are all from a Echo Park stack, where I am using up snippets. The white EP is called Winter Wonderland, from Stampendous, purchased either at Hobby Lobby or Mikes.
The sketch is from Papertake Weekly Challenge. I went back into their sketch vaults and used Sketch 79.
I am entering the card in these challenges:
Holly Jolly Christmas: Lots of Sparkle
Papertake Weekly Challenge: Sketch Free-for-All
Simon Says Wednesday: Anything Goes
Pixie's Snippet Playground #131 -- snippets
Word Art Wednesday #138: Anything Goes.

ReplyDeleteWell this is just lovely Sandy. Great idea to do the glitter strip like that. Sorry about the 2 card rule on Rudolph day! X

It is a very nice card! I love all the patterns with the glittered ribbon. I have to admit that I've done that technique only once in my life and its so easy, why don't we do it more often??!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Sandy! And I've never done the glitter strip trick, although I know about it. One to try for sure!

Hi Sandy, just saw your pretty card over at the Snippets Playground, and zipped over to meet you. Your 1st time use of the tape & glitter ribbon turned out beautifully, and I'll bet you'll be doing it more often now. It certainly glistened against that pretty stripe background. Just became your newest follower, and hope you may find time to pop over & visit me when time permits. It's always fun making new friends. TFS & Hugs
ReplyDeleteSandy, I do not know how many times I have seen the use of the tape with the glitter and have it on my to do list! You have reminded me again that is looks fabulous. Thanks for sharing with us at Holly Jolly and we hope to see you again soon. Meighan DT
