All the girly elements

I don't do super girly too often, but this one has all the elements -- pink, fairies, ribbons, charms, pearls....
The image is from Fairie Song Art Stamps. She is colored in pencils, with her skirt paper-pieced.  There's some Spica glitter pen o her wins and stars, and the wings are tipped with teeny pearls. Ii used an out-of-the-box cut to fit her in the oval.
The sentiment is from The Alley Way Stamps, stamped on vellum. I used pearls to hide the adhesive.
I've bee want to try a "junk bow" for a while and had all the elements for this card.  It's snippets of four different ribbons, secured with some embroidery floss, with a charm hanging from it.

Little mermaid

When 365 Cards put up the theme "enchanted,"  (365 cards, #138) I knew it was time to pull out the mermaid stamps.  For various reasons, I have a bunch of them, and I decided to use this one Michelle Perkett did for Faerie Song. I also used the sketch from the current There's Magic in the Air Magical Monday Challenge.

Mermaid is colored with pencils.  I tried adding some paper glaze to the little bubbles, but I think my glaze is too old and has gone bad. I put on several layers, and you can't even tell unless you are practically holding the image up to your eye. If anyone knows how to revive it, please let me know.

I used a paper with a circle pattern and one embossed with swiss dots to emphasize the bubble idea.  And the rickrack is wavy, even if it running in the wrong direction to be waves.

Love that the mermaid is reading -- nothing like literary fantasy creatures.

A little mermaid

You really have to see the Etsy-Inspired shop (EIC120) for this week. It's called Muffa, and it features handmade miniatures that are incrediby small. Some are crocheted (and as a crocheter, I cannot imagine how hard it is to to make anything that tiny), and others are made of oak. I was inspired by this cute mermaid.

I used CPS sketch 199 for the basis of the card. The images are both from Faerie Song Art stamps. The mermaid is colored with colored pencils and OMS, and this was my first attempt at doing an out-of-the-box cut with my nesties. Tan layer was embossed with the Swiss Dot folder and sanded. There are touches of glitter pen on the bubbles around the mermaid and the stars around Dream.

A three-fer

This is a simple card for three challenges.
The sketch is CPS175.
The colors were inspired by the Off the Wall Challenge, OTWC15, for this week -- teal and tangerine.
It's also for Etsy Inspired Challenge #96, an Etsy shop called Octavia & Brown, which sells vintage items, such as tableware. I was inspired by these lowball glasses, especially the color and the criss-cross pattern, which inspired the crossed twine on my card.

The details: Stamp is from Faerie Song's Michelle Perkett plate. Used colored pencils and OMS, and a spica pen for the glitter. Accessories include twine, mini tag punch and paper piercer.

A bright, sunshiny day

Let me just say, having kids out of school sure eats into the crafting time. And that's one reason I'm finally getting around to posting my card for EtsyInspired this week, even tho I actually started it Saturday when the challenge went up.

This week's Etsy Inspired Challenge (EIC95) uses the Etsy shop kimmieprout. Kimmie makes polymer clay buttons that are, well, cute as buttons. Seriously cute stuff in this shop.

I was inspired by a set called Sunshine, and pulled out this Michelle Perkett stamp from Faerie Song. Sun is stamped and paper pieced and matted on a scallop circle. The mini-tags are attached with twine. The card seemed sort of bare in the corners, so first I doodled in hot pink along the edges, and when that didn't seem enough, I added some corner detail using a doodling stencil. Not my usual style, but I think it's kind of cute.

Good Day Sunshine

This week's Etsy Inspired challenge EIC 86, takes us to an Etsy shop called Isabell's Umbrella -- I'm not really sure where the name came from, as Isabell sells notecards and other graphic items that are adorned with the cutest images. My inspiration was the "Send a Smile Note Card."

I used this cute sun by Michelle Perkett from a Faerie Song plate of her designs. The center is paper-pieced with a a piece from the Making Memories stack called Eliza (the blue gingham is from it, too.) The rest of the image is colored with pencils and OMS. Sentiment is computer generated. I got those big brads at a consigment sale last week and they seemed a good finishing touch.

EIC 78 Mermaids

This week's Etsy store is Fantasy Prints by Maigan Lynn, who does wonderful mermaid scenes. I love mermaids (don't ask me why, I'm definitely not a fish when it comes to playing in the water), and I have lots of mermaid images, so this was a fun Etsy Inspired Challenge for me.

Maigan Lynn has all sorts of lovely, girly color combos for her mermaids. I went with the green and pink combo, which is actually entitled Luna de la Mar. My image is from Faerie Song Art Stamps, which has a couple of different mermaid plates for those of you who love mermaids as much as I do.

Faerie Antics

Faerie Song Rubber Art Stamps has released a new plate called Faerie Antics. I did the sample cards for the release, and thought I'd share some of them with you (since the muse seems to have deserted me shortly after I finished them). In keeping with the theme and feel of the images on the plate, I made everything very bright and cheerful.
