Gingerbread

Just a quick and simple card this time. The image is from Pattie's Creations, colored in pencils (and now that I look at him, he looks a little underbaked.). That patterned paper was actually lining the envelope on a Christmas card someone sent me, but I think it's wonderful and decided to do a little creative recycling.

This card is for these challenges:
Rudolph Days Feb. -- anything Christmas
ABC Christmas -- C is for clean
Winter Wonderland -- anything Christmas

First flowers of spring

My SIL says her crocuses have come up.  I don't have any at my new house, but at my old house they were always a welcome sign spring was about to arrive.
Which brings me to this card featuring a crocus image from Bugaboo, which has a lovely friendship sentiment. This card uses the Stella Says Sketch layout for this week. For embellishments, there's a line of lavender lace, a diecut butterfly sponged with some yellowish Distress ink, and some gems.

This card is entered in these challenges:
Stella Says Sketch #604

The Paper Shelter #327 -- Things that fly

Cookie Challenge 88

Woohoo, after a dreary winter, we have a sunny warm day today!

It's time for another challenge at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie, and this one might put you in a spring mood. This challenge is sponsored by Pattie's Creations, which is offering two digis to a winner chosen by Random.org.  Come join the fun.

My card features an image from Pattie's Creations, which I colored in pencils with a little Wink of Stella on the snow.  I used one of my favorite supplies on this card, cutting a paint chip sample down to be a design  element. The fibers are from way back when, but I have always loved that particular one with it's pretty spring-like colors.

My card is entered in these challenges:
The Paper Shelter #327 -- Things that fly
Word Art Wednesday #322 -- anything goes
Pammie's Inky Pinkies #1807 -- anything goes

CAS Christmas

One-layer, CAS cards are a true challenge for me, but I decided to try one. This uses a small set I bought several years ago and follows the sketch for this week at Sketch Saturday. I did a little math to figure the best vertical spacing for the stamps and lightly marked the card in pencil before stamping. The slight angle on them wasn't intentional, but I kind of like it.

This card is for these challenges:
Sketch Saturday #501
ABC Christmas -- C is for Clean
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Card Challenge #373 -- use some green
Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge -- anything Christmas
Word Art Wednesday #322 -- anything goes

No color Christmas

As much as I love coloring, sometimes it's fun to let the stamp and ink do all the magic, like with this funky tree from Kaisercraft. The funky fibers seemed a perfect match.

Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #372 -- anything Christmas
Winter Wonderland -- anything Christmas

Ready for spring

I decided to make a card featuring spring flowers, in hopes that spring will soon arrive. The vase of tulips s a Taylored Expressions image, colored with pencils. For embellishment, I added glaze on the glass vase and gems in the corners.  The edges are sponged with distress ink.
The sketch is the current layout from Sketch Saturday, which is celebrating 500 challenges! Wow, congratulations.

I've got another Christmas card for you. Isn't this image a hoot? It's a From the Heart digi, which I colored with pencils, adding details with a silver gel pen and some clear Wink of Stella on that eager snowman. Twine and a few sequins finish off the card.

If you need a Valentine, the Cookie Challenge is here with inspiration. Look at these cute cookies that are our inspiration for the challenge posted today at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie. In addition to inspiration, you could get a prize from My Besties for entering a project (prize determined by a random draw)  So get creating.

My card features a From the Heart image, colored with pencils. The pink/red/silver paper is actually from a Christmas stack, but to me it seems more like Valentine's Day.

Live, Laugh, Love

Mrs. A has tweaked her Butterfly Challenge and come up with a new and different format -- the butterfly wheel, which has a choice of three colors and three themes or elements to use on your card. You must use at least one of the six, but you get extra points for using both a color and a theme. This time around, everything started with "C". I settled on the colors cream and crimson, and theme of checks.
The card uses the current Stella Says Sketch layout from Catch the Bug/Bugaboo and the butterfly circles are Bugaboo digi images. They are printed on cream and given a touch of  crimson red coloring with pencils. The lower cream panel is embossed with a Sizzix folder, and the checks come from a gingham ribbon and bow.

This card s entered in thse challenges:
Butterfly #94 -- crimson/cream/checks
Catch the Bug -- anything goes
Stella Says Sketch #603 -- sketch
Word Art Wednesday #320 -- anything goes

Eat dessert first

The Double D challenge has a kitchen-inspired challenge going on, so I pulled out a kitchen-themed set from Taylored Expressions (I believe it's called Cuppie in the Kitchen).  The images are adorable, and the sentiments are fun. I paired them with some bright, fun paper and did a little paper-piecing. A little baker's twine (see what I did there?) finishes it off.

Entering these challenges:
Double D: Kitchen is the heart of the home
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday: Anything goes
A Snowflakes Promise #47: anything goes
Word Art Wednesday #320: Anything goes
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge: Use patterned paper

Another fun snowman

Adding to my stash of Christmas card with this fun one. Can't tell you who makes the image, because it was enclosed in a swap card. He's colored with a  mix of markers and pencils, with a little Wink of Stella for sparkle.  The sentiment is white embossed.
The layout comes from the current sketch at Sketch Saturday.
