You don't hear the phrase DTP (direct to paper) very much anymore, but that's what was used here. DTP essentially means take your ink pad and apply directly to paper (or as some folks here in the South might say, "mash it on the paper.") The green panel has Versamark DTP'd on it, then clear EP applied and heated. It has a pretty cool texture. After applying the die-cut, I reheated, sprinkled some glittery white EP and reheated again.
Every flower on the die-cut has a tiny red gem in it.
Sentiment is from Hampton Arts. All the pieces but the base are snippets.

Cookie Challenge #55
It's time for another challenge at If You Give A Crafter A Cookie. It's a fun one. To play along, simply create a project inspired by the cookies and link up to the blog.

My card features an image from The Stamping Boutique, colored with pencils (along with white gel pen to add the stripes on his pants). The rest of the card is made up of snippets. The printed bits are the last leftovers from a kit I picked up years ago, and it turned out I had a brad that matched those ghosts perfectly. There is black rick-rack on the seam between the two printed papers.
My card is for these challengs:
Pattie's Creations #127 -- Halloween
The Paper Shelter #269 --Halloween
Creative Inspirations #260 -- Halloween
Shopping Our Stash #274 -- Hey Ghoulfriend (that'd be a great sentiment for my card!)
Crafty Ribbons #172 -- ribbon or lace
The Ribbon Girl -- Any image
Crafty Sentiments -- Anything goes
Word Art Wednesday #252 -- Anything goes
Pixies Snippet Playground #251 -- use snippets

Happy owlidays
Well, I did think about printing out "happy owlidays," but I didn't do it.
This is an attempt to turn a non-holiday stamp into a Christmas card. I took the owl on a branch and hung some ornaments from her branch. The ornaments are little die-cuts I bought a bag full of in the post-Christmas clearance a few years ago, either at Michal's or the Dollar Store. I think it was actually supposed to be used like table confetti or something, but I, of course, thought "Christmas cards!"
The ornaments are plain red, so I added some details with a white gel pen just to make them a little interesting. Little hanging ribbons are hand drawn as well. Owl stamp is black-embossed with some details colored in pencil.
This card is for
ABC Christmas -- U is for Under the pile (something at least 1 year old from stash = ornaments)

Scribbles Guest Designer

Remember ladder ribbon? I found some deep in a box, and even if it's not in fashion, I quite like it. A leaf-shaped brad finishes the card off.

Scribbles sponsors a monthly challenge at the Scribbles Challenge Blog. This time, the challenge is Fabulous Fall. Check it out and play along. (They posts freebies most Fridays, too!)
I am entering my card in these challenges:

Quick and easy Christmas
I couldn't work up a lot of energy for cardmaking, but I did manage one cute card by keeping it CAS. The strip of snowmen is a snippet; I have a whole stack of bright and busy patterned paper like this, and I am coming to realize this this might be the best use, because cover the whole card with it is just too busy.
I believe this snow couple is a Crafty Sentiments image; it was in a folder of images I had already printed out. They are colored (sparingly) with pencils; I wanted to stick to the basic red/green/black/white scheme. Also mounted on a snippet.

ABC Christmas -- T is for two
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #300 -- use a sentiment

Christmas blues
I was intrigued by this week's Sketch Saturday layout, and this is what I came up with.
The image (sent to me in a card swap) is colored with pencils, with sparkly spica pen added to her little star. The blue piece is embossed with a Sizzix/Stampin Up folder. The brown card stock is two-sided, and I used the opposite, lighter color to mat the main image.
The star brad started out silver and I used alcohol ink to give it a brown stain. (That's a handy-dandy tip for any time you have a metal embellishment you want to change the color on.)
This card is for these challenges:
Sketch Saturday #430
Holly Jolly Christmas #81 -- embossing
Winter Wonderland Tic Tac Toe (blue/emboss/sparkle)
Christmas ard Challenge #41 -- color challenge (blues and browns)
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #299 -- Cute Christmas
