Bus stop, wet day....

Recently one of my cards was top pick at the C.R.A.F.T. challenge, and they asked me to do a guest DT stint for this week's challenge.  The theme is Easter/spring, and I chose to make a spring showers card. (That's quite appropriate considering our weather.)
My card features a sweet image from The Paper Shelter, which I colored in pencils, adding some stamped shrubbery on the side.  The image is die-cut with a Spellbinders pierced oval. The clouds are cut with a die from Whimsy Stamps called Stitched Clouds.
The papers are all snippets -- the three patterned pieces are from a really old stack. The scalloped strip in the middle was cut from a snippet that was only an inch wide (why do I keep some of these things?)  The clouds were cut from bits of white.
If you're in the mood to do an Easter/spring card, hop on over to C.R.A.F.T. #460. You could win a prize from Eureka Stamps.

My card is for these challenges:

Pixie's Snippet Playground -- use snippets
Cuttlebug Mania -- spring
Stamplorations -- Spring
Crafting from the Heart #199 -- anything goes
Pammie's Inky Pinkies 1811 -- anything goes
Word Art Wednesday#327 -- anything goes
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge -- use patterned paper

  2. Really love this card Sandy! Such a cute couple and really pretty colours as well. I did giggle about the tiny snippets remark you made in your post. I'm exactly the same - really it's a fear that one day I won't be able to find a little piece of card to match something. Sigh.

  5. Congrats on the guest DT spot. You certainly picked a perfect image for spring. We're in for some of that liquid precipitation tomorrow night. Like all your added touches pulling in your theme. Thanks for joining us at the PIP challenge this week.

Stencils and diecuts

I've had the idea for this card for a while, but I finally got around to making it this week.  I started by stenciling the stone fence...
