Ombre two ways

Life is crazy, but I managed to sneak in a quick crafting session to make this card.
I know when challenges use a "green" theme in March, someone was thinking St. Patrick's Day, but it made me think of Christmas, so that's what I made.
I started by stamping a very old Stampin' Up Christmas tree and black-embossing it on a snippet of watercolor paper.  I then used Mowed Lawn Distress Ink to water color it, adding more water as I colored further down the tree to achieve an ombre look.  Thanks to a big pile of green snippets (some I didn't even have to cut because they were already the right size), the tree is mounted on a light green shimmer paper, and the ombre theme is repeated in the three flags on the bottom of the mat.
The layout here is the Kraftin' Kimmie Sketch for this month, and I think it's a sketch with a lot of possibilities.
This card is for these challenges:

  12. Lovely CAS design. We are so blessed with your participation in our previous Challenge and would love to have you back for our current Challenge at Word Art Wednesday. I want to share with you the inspiration of God's Word from Habakkuk 2:3-4 and it says, " For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. “See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright— but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness---." Have an awesome week!

Stencils and diecuts

I've had the idea for this card for a while, but I finally got around to making it this week.  I started by stenciling the stone fence...
