Not so simple CAS

This looks like a clean and simple card, but getting there wasn't easy. I had done all the stamping and embossing  and die-cut the bottom when I realized I had burgundy ink on my fingers and had gotten some on the card. So I made a new card, then decided I didn't get the placement of the staps quite where I wanted. So, I went back to the original card and added the ribbon and bow to cover up the stray ink.

The stamps are from a variety of sets/makers.  Pine bough from Prickly Pear, sentiment from Stampin Up; pinecone is unknown. Green Grass, Baroque Burgundy and versamark inks with glittery gold EP.

This card is for these challenges:

  3. Had a giggle over your card making descriptions. Thought it was only me who got inky finger smudges!

The is such a pretty card. The delicate brand and pinecone looks wonderful but love that bottom stripey die cut DP.

Thanks for taking part in the September Rudolph days Challenge.

  7. Gorgeous! Beautiful card and superb stamping. I am just the same with CAS cards - they take so much more time than we anticipate! A great save and thank goodness for ribbons and flat backed gems that cover finger prints so well!

  11. Sometimes I think mistakes make for a better card! The ribbon sets off the design brilliantly.

  12. I find that a lot of CAS cards are not so simple to make. I really like the ribbon on this. It adds to the festiveness. I like that "lumpy" ribbon. It has a bit more pizzazz than regular ribbon.

  13. Isn't it funny how CAS cards can sometimes take the longest to do??!! I find this happening a lot but its so worth it in the end. Just like this card, its so simple and I love the design with the striped paper along the bottom. Its a brilliant card and I'm so glad you shared it with us at ATSM this week!

Stencils and diecuts

I've had the idea for this card for a while, but I finally got around to making it this week.  I started by stenciling the stone fence...
