The cards are based on this week's challenge at The Paper Players, and it was a great excuse to utilize a bunch of snippets I had stuffed into a stack of Christmas paper from Echo Park. I really shouldn't save 1-inch strips, but with 6x6 paper, I end up with a lot of them.
The ornament is silver-embossed on red paper and popped up on foam adhesive. I used a little silver cording for something for the ornament to dangle from, and added a bow of sparkly fiber on each. (Those are snippets, too, the last I have of both the silver and gold versions of that fiber).
I made the one with the black background first, then tried putting the banners at a slight angle -- I think the angles look a little jauntier, and I think I prefer that one.
I'm entering these cards in these challenges:
Rudolph Day July -- 2 cards
Papertake Weekly -- It's a jolly holiday
Holly Jolly Christmas -- Deck the Halls
Clear It Out -- Christmas with something sparkly
Pixie's Snippet Playground #135 -- lots of snippets here
Hi Sandy . . . LOVE your silver embossed bauble cards using that great layout. AND you used snippets too . . . well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along in Rudolph Day.

GREAT cards Sandy! I do like the layout you used, and agree that your 'jaunty' twist just adds that something.
ReplyDeleteLucky you helping out at a craft event but how frustrating not to be able to escape for a little mooch around. However, I think your Kaisercraft stamps were a great purchase so maybe you were best of buying where you were helping anyhow!
Good to see you in the Playground again!
Hugs, Di xx
Great Cards...love the layout! Thanks for playing along at Holly Jolly Christmas!

These are lovely Sandy. I do love Kaisercraft paper and stamps and I would be keeping those Snippets for a later day too. They are lovely.

LOL! The gumballs on my desk are actually the butt ends of all sorts of markers. Great cards and you go for starting your Christmas cards now. I agree with you with the 1" strips but they do make fabulous banners. Sometimes I keep them and sometimes I pitch them.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful idea to use up those narrow strips of paper that we cut off our 6x6 papers.
ReplyDeleteGreat design and great cards.
