Christmas Wreaths

I had the house to myself while the guys were out camping, so I had time to stamp. I even got to pull out my new Spellbinders wreath die and make a few Christmas cards. Unfortunately, the photos don't show the nice embossing on the wreath.

On the window card, I put blue vellum behind the window die, and I used Stickles to represent berries on the wreath.  The wreath is cut from a green snippet.  I made the card for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown's challenge -- Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.  The vellum is both old (from the last time vellum was all the rage in stamping) and blue.  The wreath die is the something new.  Both the brick-embossed piece and the window were RAKs, so they are sort of  "borrowed."

I made a second, similar  card in blue and white to qualify for Sarn's "Rudolph Day", which requires not one but two Christmas cards.  That card also used a snippet for the wreath. The sentiment is a cheap stamp from Michaels. It is not mounted straight on the wood, and I always end up stamping it crooked, so I decided to do it at an angle so the wonkiness would look planned.

I'm entering  these challenges:

52 Christmas Card Throwdown -- old, new, borrowed, blue
Stamping for Pleasure -- May Rudolph Day
Pixie's Snippet Playground #126
Word Art Wednesday #134-- Anything Goes

  2. Hi Sandy - welcome to Rudolph Day and thanks for playing along with these two lovely Christmas wreath cards. I clicked on the photos to enlarge them so I could see the embossing detail on the first card! Nosy aren't I? LOL!

As to your crooked stamp - you need a stamp positioner Honey. I wouldn't be without my beloved Stamp-A-Ma-Jig from Stampin' Up!

PS I agree with Sarn on the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig - it's awesome and easy to use too :o)

  5. Hi Sandy, great to see you in the Playground again - and of course playing over at Rudolph Day as well. I love your wreath cards, especially the one on the window with the brickwork.

I'm with everyone else about the stamp positioner - I don't think I could function without mine!!

    Hugs, Di xx

  6. Lovely wreath cards Sandy, I especially love the window die and brickwork combo card! I have to echo what others have said - a Stamp-a-ma-jig is a stamper's must have tool! However, great job remembering to stamp at an angle 'cos that particular stamp comes out wonky - I'd have stamped first and THEN remembered!
Thanks so much for playing along with us at 52 {C}CT, hope you come back soon! Ruth x

  9. That's a fun wreath! I love how you put it all up in a window. You got me thinking though.... when was vellum big? It's been awhile. Time for it to make a comeback!

Stencils and diecuts

I've had the idea for this card for a while, but I finally got around to making it this week.  I started by stenciling the stone fence...
