Camping fun

My family, especially my husband, loves camping (although, tbh, we gave up tent camping a while ago and enjoy a little travel trailer.) When the Double Trouble challengers asked for a card representing what "my guy" likes to do, camping was the  obvious choice. I created a starry night sky by blending inks and splattering a shimmery white water color, then die-cut the tent and a few trees to finish the scene of camping under the stars. I used the Try a Sketch on Tuesday layout and incorporated some plaid scraps (plaid = outdoors, right?)

This card is for these challenges:

Double Trouble #218 -- 3 strips, 2 die-cut items, masculine project; TSOT,; my guy twist

TSOT #697 -- sketch

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday -- add a sentiment

Die-Cut Divas -- anything goes

Pammie's Inky Pinkies #2624 -- anything goes

The Paper Funday #88-- anything goes

A Cut Above -- use die-cuts

Word Art Wednesday #756 -- anything goes

  1. Lovely masculine design. I am seeing this sketch everywhere. The spattered background and round die make it look like a snow globe seen. Cute tent too! Thanks for sharing with the June Challenge at A Cut Above. Happy to have you play along.

  4. Love the camping scene you created for your camping fanatic. Yep we too went through many stages of camping from tent, pop-up, to trailer and our final move to Arizona for the last 20 years have been a feel-like camping atmosphere. Thank you for sharing your fun card with us at Double Trouble and TSOT

  6. This is a perfect card all around, Sandy! I love the snow globe look of the campsite, and you’re right plaid just goes so well with camping. I wouldn’t be to tent camp anymore either, but your little camper sounds like so much fun! I know your hubby will love this card! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday. We appreciate your participation!

  7. What a great card. Love how you personalized the card for your family. The plaid patterned paper adds to the "rustic" feel of your card. Thanks for joining us at Try A Sketch On Tuesday.

  8. Sandy, I don't blame your husband about preferring trailer camping to tent camping - I had a run-in with skunks and a torrential thunderstorm that cured me of tent camping decades ago! Thank you for sharing your card with us at both TSOT and Double Trouble!! -Donna
