Sometimes it's nice to carry a card with a diecut rather than a stamp. Princess Judy sent me this diecut, and I turned it into a sort-of masculine looking card, even though that old victrola looks kind of feminine.
The square kraft card came with the scallops, already punched, and I added a strip of lighter-colored card stock inside to show off the pretty edge when the card is closed.
This card is for these challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday -- it's hip to be square
Double D -- Neutrals
Catch the Bug -- bingo (monochromatic, scallops, bling)
Word Art Wednesday #244 -- anything goes
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.
Butterfly #61 -- Kraft Paper

What a great die cut, and I DO love die cuts! I have a few large dies that simply have to be the focal image. This makes such a great masculine card and the neutrals are perfect with the vintage Victrola. I'm so glad you shared it in our Neutrals challenge at Double D!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy, you have linked your card to my challenge but it is not included in the list above so am unsure if you have changed your mind? Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteThe die cut has a decorative design with swirls, but I think this works as a masculine card. You chose lovely neutral colors and a simple design to make it perfect for a man. Thanks for sharing with us at Catch the Bug and good luck! Pia, Bugaboo DT

Great card...I love that die cut. It is unusual and quite wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAh! The gramophone! Those Tattered Lace dies are all frilly like that but with the right colors and attitude you can make them a masculine card. That's what I got this die for--dude cards. Plus I thought it would be funny with my "you rock" greeting.
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning, Sandy. The Victrola diecut really does carry the card. Thanks so much for joining the August Bingo challenge at Catch the Bug!
ReplyDeleteThe gramophone makes a brilliant card and love the colours.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us at Simon says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Hi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteback again. I like the patterend krsft card. It can be quite a hard surface and colour to work with but your die cut gramophone looks lovely against the card. The added design paper and butterfly finish the design perfectly.
Hugs Mrs A.
