I couldn't work up a lot of energy for cardmaking, but I did manage one cute card by keeping it CAS. The strip of snowmen is a snippet; I have a whole stack of bright and busy patterned paper like this, and I am coming to realize this this might be the best use, because cover the whole card with it is just too busy.
I believe this snow couple is a Crafty Sentiments image; it was in a folder of images I had already printed out. They are colored (sparingly) with pencils; I wanted to stick to the basic red/green/black/white scheme. Also mounted on a snippet.

Christmas blues
I was intrigued by this week's Sketch Saturday layout, and this is what I came up with.
The image (sent to me in a card swap) is colored with pencils, with sparkly spica pen added to her little star. The blue piece is embossed with a Sizzix/Stampin Up folder. The brown card stock is two-sided, and I used the opposite, lighter color to mat the main image.
The star brad started out silver and I used alcohol ink to give it a brown stain. (That's a handy-dandy tip for any time you have a metal embellishment you want to change the color on.)
This card is for these challenges:
Sketch Saturday #430
Holly Jolly Christmas #81 -- embossing
Winter Wonderland Tic Tac Toe (blue/emboss/sparkle)
Christmas ard Challenge #41 -- color challenge (blues and browns)
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #299 -- Cute Christmas
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra -- Anything Christmas

Cookie Challenge #53
A new challenge has been posted at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie. It's time to do some fun and games cards (or whatever the cookies inspire you to do). There are two chances to win, with prizes from All Dressed Up and from Bugaboo, so you could use this opportunity to make a guy card and maybe win some great images. My card features a Bugaboo image, which I colored in pencils. The sentiment is a rub-on, and I added some very masculine black grosgrain ribbon as a tab to keep the guy theme going.
This card is for these challenges:
The Ribbon Girl -- use any image
Crafty Sentiments -- for someone special
Word Art Wednesday #248 -- anything goes
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge --use patterned paper
Kraftin' Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday -- anything goes

Butterflies
A friend sent me some embossed backgrounds a few weeks ago, and I wanted to showcase this butterfly background. I cut it down to a square and mounted it on a snippet of lavender. There are two die cuts stacked on it. One is a flowering branch from Memory Box, cut from vellum. The butterfly, from Simon Says, was cut from another snippet. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
The card is for these challenges:
Butterfly Challenge #61 -- Lavender
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday -- CAS
Catch the Bug -- the great outdoors
Stamplorations/Cutplorations Diecut Linky Party -- anything with dies
Happy Little Stampers September Die Challenge -- anything goes
Cuttlebug Mania -- anything with Dies

Magical
I am a huge Harry Potter fan, so when I saw the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge theme was "At the Movies," I decided to make this Harry Potter themed birthday card.
The image is from Bugaboo, colored with pencils and fussy cut. That's the current Sketch Saturday Sketch, done in Gryffindor colors, with a computer-generated sentiment. The card seemed a little too CAS, so I added some piercing above and below the sentiment, and added some spica pen and star stickers coming out of the wand.

Sketch Saturday #429
Seize the Birthday -- anything birthday

Hello, fall?
The temperatures here are still heading into the 90s every day, but I keep hoping if I act like fall is coming, it eventually will. So I made a fall card.
The image is from A Day for Daisies, colored in pencils. I used a piece of faux wood-grained card stock (part of my stash of pre-made items I'm trying to use up.) The image is cut from an oval nestie and mounted on a scalloped nestie. Since the wood grain had a bluish tinge, I added some unexpected blues to my fall card, including bakers twine. The die-cut "hello" (yet another goodie from that pre-made stash; it was a gift so I don't know who makes the die) is mounted on tiny bits of foam that I cut as small as possible (and I think managed to keep hidden pretty well).
The sketch is the current Sketch Saturday layout.
The card is for these challenges:
A Day For Daisies -- Add a touch of wood
Die-Cut Divas -- Fall
Double D Challenge -- Down on the farm
Sketch Saturday -- Sketch #428
The Ribbon Girl -- Make a card
Catch the Bug -- Anything goes

Christmas village
I knocked out three Christmas cards last night. They are all the same, featuring this snowy scene. Someone tucked the stamped images into a swap card a while back, and I'm making an effort to use up those pre-stamped images piling up in my "image" drawer.
The image was stamped on linen-textured paper and it just seemed like it should feature muted colors, so I used a light touch with my pencils. I also squeezed out the last bit of glitter glue to provide a tiny bit of sparkle. The image is matted on a silver layer that's a recycled piece of junk mail.
I'm entering this in these challenges:
