Monochromatic, and sort of masucline

Sometimes it's nice to carry a card with a diecut rather than a stamp. Princess Judy sent me this diecut, and I turned it into a sort-of masculine looking card, even though that old victrola looks kind of feminine.
The square kraft card came with the scallops, already punched, and I added a strip of lighter-colored card stock inside to show off the pretty edge when the card is closed.
This card is for these challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday -- it's hip to be square
Double D -- Neutrals
Catch the Bug -- bingo (monochromatic, scallops, bling)

Cookie Challenge #51

It's time for another challenge at If You Give A Crafter A Cookie.  There are two prizes this time, provided by Fred She Said and KittyBee Designs. To play along, just make a project inspired by the cookies.
For my card, I used an image from Fred She Said, colored with pencils.  The snippet of plaid has been hanging around for years (I  used it for one of the first sets of Christmas cards I used, back when I did production-line Christmas cards. That was before I realized I did not enjoy production lines.)
The mistletoe embellishment is made the leafy end from a die-cut branch, with tiny half-pearls as the berries.

This card is for these challenges:
ABC Christmas -- Q is for Quick Layout
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #295 -- Cute
Creative Inspiration #256 -- Christmas in August
Rudolph Days August -- Christmas
Pixie's Snippet Playground #243 -- Use snippets

My kind of bouquet

I've been struggling with lack of mojo and inspiration, but I'm relatively happy with this card. I used a digi stamp from I Heart Stamps, colored with pencils.  All the papers are snippets (I'm not thrilled with the yellow dp on the bottom, but nothing I tried looked perfect.)  The putterflies are also a very lightly patterned paper.
I'm entering these challenges:
Sketch Saturday #425
Share the Joy #49, color option -- (colors are the two shades of blue, Potato Chip (pale yellow) and Watermelon (red)
The Paper Shelter #260 -- birthday wishes

Cookie Challenge #50

It's time for another challenge at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie.  The inspiration photo takes us "under the sea."  The prize sponsor this time is The Stamping Boutique, which is offering you a choice of digis if you win.
For my card, I created a watercolor background and white-embossed a shell. (Glad I didn't do a mermaid card since everyone else on the DT went that route.) Both the image and sentiment are from Impression-Obsession.
Hope you can join the Cookie Challenge.
I am entering this card in these challenges:

Pink Butterfly CASE

This card was inspired by a card Tami Mayberry posted recently.
I found this white embossed background in my stash (It was a gift, and I have no idea who makes this folder) which I figured could sub for the gorgeous die-cut backkground she used.  Then I used a couple pink snippets for the butterfly dies (from Simon Says Stamp). The sentiment looks like SU, and I used an unlabled pink cube to ink it up.

This card is for these challenges

Stamplorations CAS challenge -- CAS
The Paper Shelter summer break -- anything goes
Word Art Wednesday #242 -- Anything Goes
Kraftin Kimmie Wonderful Wednesday -- Anything goes

Using the stash

I'll admit that I am kind of a paper hoarder. It's just so pretty I hate to cut it up.  (Yes, I see many of you nodding. You know what I mean).
This project uses tons of pretty papers that had already been cut. Yup, good-sized snippets all from the same pack. The edges of the long strips are inked in a mustard color and the yellow square is edged in orange. This is the Mojo sketch for this week, and I like that each of the three strips are shown a different width.
For the central panel, I used some coordinating printed chipboard from my stash to complete this card. Really, I need to do this stash thing more often.

This card is for these challenges:
Mojo Monday #459 -- sketch
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday -- fabulous florals
Scribbles Design Challenge #43 -- How does your garden grow?
Pixie's Snippet Playgournd #240 -- use snippets
Word Art Wedcnesday #242 -- anything goes

Flamingo fun

So, I usually google photos of an animal before I color it.  Glad I did with this flamingo -- I was surprised to learned they are darker on the belly and the back/wings area is often whitish.
This is just a fun little bird-day card  featuring a flamingo image from I Heart Stamps. You'll note it is a very fashion-conscious flamingo wearing a stylish polka-dot scarf (thanks to the fine point end of a brush-tip marker). The sequins make it quite festive, eh?

This card is for these challenges:
I Heart Stamps Sketch 160
Simon Says Stamp Monday -- celebrate
Double D Challenge -- I love Polka Dots
Little Tangles #71 -- sequins

Red and gold Christmas

I watched a video earlier this year that suggested you could use any flower on a Christmas card as long as you color it red. I don't ha...
