Vintage bike

I got this awesome image that's an ad for a bike as an RAK.  I wanted to do something vintage with it, but lace and flowers didn't seem appropriate. I ended up using an old page from a book, a bunch of die-cute leaves, and some natural hemp twine. I like riding bikes in the fall, so why not a fall-themed bike?

The layout is from the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge (#68). The book page is from an old paperback thesaurus that is falling apart and that I saved especially for art projects. (It would pain me to rip apart a book that was in good shape.) (Note that I used an appropriate page behind the bike.) All the embossed leaf shapes are from a Spellbinder's die, and I just randomly grabbed snippets in fall colors and made a bunch last year; these were leftovers.

I'm entering these challenges:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday #68
Cuttlebug Mania --  wheels
Clear it Out -- Autumn/leaves
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday -- die cuts
Word Art Wednesday #201 -- anything goes

  1. Sandy I love your card, and you're completely right flowers wouldn't have worked but your leaves and twine work perfectly and so does your old book page. You made me laugh about breaking up a book I just couldn't do that either so I bought a book from a school gala day old books people had donated and found an old dictionary and used that but still find it hard to take the pages out of it. Love your card everything works perfectly together. Great card and thanks so much for sharing your talent with us over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and good luck.

  5. Fall is the best time to do anything around here. I've seen a lot of cards in these same muted fall colors lately. I think you all are on trend and don't even know it. Love the card and the book page for the background.
