Vellum all the way

As I've said many times, I really like vellum, so I decided to build a whole card around various uses of vellum.
I started out with Sketch Saturday's current sketch. I cut a piece of white vellum, embossed it with the Swiss dots folder, and cut an oval out of it. The vellum layer is mounted on a pale gray layer. Instead of using the oval for an image, I filled it with a die-cut vellum flower spray and a diecut butterfly, with embossed green vellum layered on white cardstock. The butterfly die is from Simon Says Stamp (Chrissy butterfly) and the flower spray is from Memory Box.
Along the side I put torn vellum strip  in pink, green and white, layered on top of each other. The sentiment is white embossed on another torn bit of vellum.
White brads in all four corners help hold the vellum in place, because I still haven't found a really good vellum adhesive. (The mini gems cover glue dots.)

This card meets the requirements for several challenges:
Sketch Saturday -- #360
Catch the Bug -- In the Garden
Simon Says Stamp Monday -- use an SSS exclusive product
Butterfly Challenges #30 -- jagged edges
Crafting for all seasons -- birthday with four of something (brads)
Word Art Wednesday #183 -- anything goes
Clear it out -- green stash (the vellum)

  2. This is stunning Sandy. I love all the coloured layers of vellum and the embossed one on the top. Great idea with the oval die and then the flowers and butterfly as the infills. I have just bought some Vellum tape from 'Scotch' to try out . It claims to disappear on most vellums so we shall see. Thankyou for fluttering by #30. Hugs Mrs A.

Stems and flowers

I love these Tim Holtz flowers, and decided to use them for a CAS card. The card is a mini slimline. The All that was left of the snippets...
