A friend in France sent me some gorgeous paper doilies, which she got from a friend of hers who used them in a restaurant that is now closed. I just had to showcase one. It adds so much texture and elegance to the card.
I went looking through my stash for dp that looked vintage and had some
red in it. I got lucky, for sure -- the paper perfectly echoes that
beautiful doily.
The image classifies as vintage, too, I think. It comes from the very first stamp set I ever bought, an SU set called Nice and Easy Notes (or something similar).

Bits and pieces
I'm always impressed by people who can make cards from the leftovers on their desk. Not sure that this will impress anyone, but I used leftovers to make this card. I made a card using this image a week ago, and I had printed out two copies. The previous card used a die-cut scallop, and I decided to use the negative as a frame. The Bugaboo image is colored with pencils, with Spica pen on the wings and Wink of Stella on the stars. Add a silver-embossed sentiment and silver cording, and it's a card.

Cookie Challenge #48
It's time for another cookie-inspired challenge at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie.
The prize this time is sponsored by Sami Stamps, which is providing a $12 gift certificate to their store.

The image is colored with pencils, with Wink of Stella adding sparkle in the center of that ornament. The sentiment is computer generated.
Hope you can join us in this challenge. You just have to be inspired by the cookies.

Still Christmas in July
Here's another Christmas card, using the sketch Bugaboo has for its Christmas in July challenge that is taking place all week.
The image is from Bugaboo, colored in pencils, with a little Spica pen glitter on the wings and halo and Wink of Stella on the stars. The larger piece of purple paper is a snippet of some alcohol ink marbling, and the punched border is another snippet. Gold-flecked twine is wrapped around the top and bottom of the marbled paper. The sentiment is a little wonky, but let's call it a joyful angle.

Christmas in July

So, here's a Christmas card, featuring my interpretation of the current sketch from Sketch Saturday.
The sentiment (from Whimsey) is silver-embossed. The largest snowflake is from Purple Onion, stamped in cobalt blue. The medium snowflake is stamped in SU Bliss Blue and the smallest is in Colorbox ice blue.

BBQ time
We cook out a lot in the summer, which makes me happy because the kitchen stays cooler, and my husband is the grill master, meaning I don't have to cook as much. So let's celebrate outdoor cooking.
Here's a card featuring an old set by Studio G. I thought I had a die for a flower that might work for the sun, but I ended up hand-cutting the sun element (and frankly, I'm not thrilled with it.)
I used the current Mojo sketch and the inspiration board from the Double D Challenge.

The card is for these challenges:
Mojo Monday #455
Double D -- simply gingham
The Paper Shelter #256 -- Sunny Days
Creative Inspirations #255 -- summer
Time Out #61 -- inspired by quote: "Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine"

The little things
Hope you're staying cool, wherever you are.
Today's card features a cute image a friend sent me, so I can't supply any information about the source of the image. It does make for a cheerful card, however. The image is colored with pencils, with a little spica pen glitter on the ladybug's antenna. (An aside: I wasn't even sure ladybug had antenna so I just checked. They do, but they are quite short and undramatic.)
Many of the design cues for this card came from the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge board, where I chose the row that called for felt, critters and starts and stripes.
This card is for these challenges:
Tic Tac Toe #13 (far left row, down)
Simon Says Stamp Monday -- red, white, blue
Crafty Sentiments -- flowers
Word Art Wednesday #238 -- anything goes
Catch the Bug -- anything goes
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge -- patterned paper.
