Butterfly birthday

I learned to make this "bridge" style card a few weeks ago, and I decided to try again when I saw that Mrs. A's Butterfly challenge was "extra folds," or cards with more than a fold down the center. The other part of the challenge was to use "peacock blue" which is similar to the blue in this patterned paper.
The card was created by folding the base (4 folds), covering with the paper-- which comes from a Cosmos Cricket set, and decorating it with a layered, die-cut butterfly alighting on a lovely die-cut branch. The birthday greeting was heat-embossed on vellum, adhered to the matching "bridge strip" and set off by brads. Applying the bridge is the final step.

This card is for these challenges:

Snowy day

Well, not a snowy day here, thankfully, but a snowy day card. This is an ancient stamp that actually also includes "winter Wonderland" above the trees, but I just wanted the trees and snow. They are embossed with a glittery white EP, which I believe is also called Winter Wonderland.
The sentiment is from From the Heart, and the layout is based on the current sketch challenge at Catch the Bug/Stella Says Sketch.
This is a snippets card (I didn't even trim the dark blue piece, it was basically a perfect fit). Even the sentiment was a snippet left from a previous piece.

Cookie Challenge #86

Another challenge is up at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie, and it looks like we are going to a birthday party. To join the fun, just create and link up a project inspired by the cookies. You could win digi mages from Imagine That!, with the winner chosen in a random draw.

My card features a party cat from Imagine That!.  The party time ticket is part of the set, and it added a little festive touch. Everything's colored with pencils.

This card is entered in these challenges:

Scribbles Designs -- birthday challenge

Valentine

One of my goals for this year is to use stuff, includng tons of die-cuts people have sent me. I combined a couple to make this simple valentine's card. (The red heart is Cheery Lynn and the white one appears to be Technique Tuesday).

I liked the pop of white and red over the black and gray background. Sentiment is from Purple Onion.

This card is for these challenges:
Cuttlebug Mania -- Valentine's Day
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday -- layer up

Birthday

Never enough birthday cards, right? Well, I'm running low on them, anyway.
This card uses the technique I've seen called triple play (I think Technique Junkies called it Triple the  Fun). I just pulled out a bunch of birthday related stamps and stamped them randomly using blue, lavendar, and light green ink.
The sentiment is popped up on dots to keep it above the twine twisted aroound the central panel. There's a gem on the candle flame.

Ths card is for these challenges:
SumMoreFun -- Mood board #20 (inspired by the theme)
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday -- add a  sentiment
Word ARt Wednesday #318 -- Anything goes

Happy Birthday

Two digi stamp companies, Bugaboo and Scribbles Designs, are celebrating their birthdays this month, so happy birthday to both. This card's for you.
I used a tent-topper style card, and it was a great way to show off this cute patterned paper -- it's shiny and has glitter, which makes it fun but harder to photograph.

I'm entering these challenges:

Catch the Bug 8th Birthday Bash, day 1 -- bold and bright
Scribbles Designs #61 -- birthday blowout
Word Art Wednesday #318 -- anything goes

Reindeer love

Love this prancing reindeer die from Hampton Arts.  The antler paper is from a stack I got at Michael's, probably in 2016. I've never found a use for it before, but I thought it was fun as a background for the reindeer.

This card is for these challenges:
ABC Christmas -- A is for antler
CRAFT #450 -- Christmas
Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge #368 -- creature

Snow and one layer

Of all the snowman images I have, I think I like this little From the Heart guy the best. He's colored with pencils and, as always, I used Wink of Stella to make the snow sparkle. That Polaroid frame comes from a packet of random stuff I picked up at a yard sale. I think it makes a fun accent to the card.
This card is for these challenges:
CRAFT #450 -- Christmas
Pattie's Creations #142 -- Fun in the snow

Mrs. A asked us to make a one-layer card for the current Butterfly Challenge. I very rarely do one-layer cards, but I was feeling up for the challenge. I created the colored strip by masking and sponging on various pink inks, then stamping over it with a background stamp. The butterfly stamp is from an SU set up picked up at a consignment sale, and it's a NBUS. I restamped it about six times and still didn't get the solid image I wanted, so I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the stamp or if I just haven't figured out the stamping platform yet.

This card is for
Butterfly Challenge 92 -- one layer, ultra pink

Flowery thanks

It's time for the first challenge of the year at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie. This time, I am the "sponsor," (so to speak)  and I will be sending out a grab bag of ribbons and fibers to the winner of the draw. It could be you, so just create and link up a project inspired by the cookies.

For my card, I was inspired by the fun prints on the cookies. I wanted to display this lovely flowery printed paper, and I paired it with a thank-you die-cut. I added a few clear sequins for sparkle, and some yummy gold ribbon.

I am entering these challenges:
Time Out #100 -- "Thankful"
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday -- use patterned paper.
Catch the Bug -- anything goes
World Art Wednesday #316 -- anything goes
Craftyhazelnut's Ppatterned Paper Challenge --  use patterned paper.

Red and gold Christmas

I watched a video earlier this year that suggested you could use any flower on a Christmas card as long as you color it red. I don't ha...
