When I first started stamping, I used to buy grab bags of stamps, which was a cheaper way to get images, but I ended up with a real mishmash of images. This particular image comes from that time, and while I never would have chosen it by myself, it is a fun one to pull out occasionally.
The image is stamped using Chestnut Roan Colorbox Chalk ink. (I had a heck of a time getting the image stamped, and after several tries finally resorted to a trick I learned long ago, which is put the paper on a hard surface, ink the stamp and put it down, then use your foot to apply pressure. It works every time.)
The image is colored in pencils, with antique linen Distress ink sponged around the edges.
The layout is from Kraftin Kimmie and incorporates a bunch of snippets from a Cosmos Cricket pack.

CAS Christmas
I received several of these die-cut pine branches tucked into a swap card recently. As part of my effort to Use Things Up, I turned them into Christmas cards the first chance I got. Happily, the branch worked perfectly with a pinecone stamp I own. The pinecone is embossed in an EP called Pirate's Gold and has a nice sparkle in person.

April showers
This card features a little paper piecing to get the bright colors on the umbrella. The image is by Crafty Sentiments, with some very light pencil coloring. The flowered ribbon is from my stash.
Random thought: I like the difference in dot patterns on the blue vs. the green paper, compared to two papers with identical dot patterns.

Hopping down the bunny trail
It's time for another challenge at If You Give a Crafter a Cookie. This challenge is sponsored by Fred She Said Designs. All you need to do to play along is to create a project inspired by these cute cookies. My card features a Studio G image and sentiment. The bunny is stamped on a snippet of ivory paper and mounted on a snippet of blue. (Actually everything on this card is a snippet that coordinatea with the dotted paper, all of which I have been hoarding for ages.) The buttons are die-cut from an MFT die and there's embroidery floss tied on each.

Sweet Snowman
I found this snowman image tucked into a swap card I received, so I don't know who makes the image, but it's a a sweet one. I simply colored it with pencils, die-cut the oval, and added piercing around the edge.
The card base has been sitting in my Christmas file for ages -- as I recall I started to do a sketch challenge ages ago and abandoned the project for forgotten reasons (realistically, probably lack of time). The snowman and a die-cut snowflake seemed to fit perfectly with what I had, and I have no idea what the original sketch called for. I am making a concerted effort to take advantage of half-made items and put them to good use.
